Anyone with a general interest in flying drones in New Zealand. No exam and no aviation knowledge required.
Good if you're not sure whether you need Part 101, Part 102 or a rating, and want to find out before you buy a course.
Free. Includes:
- A 20-minute online orientation
- A 3D sandbox to try out the Part 101 rules
- A quick pathway finder to point you at the right course
Not included: a pilot certificate. This is an orientation, not a certification course.
What you'll cover:
- Why drones have rules: who makes the rules in New Zealand and what training adds.
- Part 101, and when you need more: the everyday rules, with a 3D sandbox to try them out.
- Which drone pilot certificate? Part 101 vs Part 102, and what each one lets you do.
- Ratings: extra training for night, chemical, agricultural and building-cleaning work.
- Your pathway: a quick finder to point you at the right course, and what's next.
