The Ag Rating is for pilots who want to operate professionally in agricultural spraying and fertiliser application. It can be taken on its own if you already hold the qualifications leading up to it, or as a full pathway if you're starting from scratch.
The complete Ag Pilot Pathway includes your Part 102 Drone Pilot Certificate, UAOC application assistance, Operational Competency Assessment, and the Chemical Rating course (now available directly through DroneTrust), with the Ag Rating assessment as the final step.
Because pilots arrive with different levels of experience, the total cost and time to completion vary. We'll help you map out exactly which steps you need.
This is right for you if you intend to carry out agricultural, horticultural, or pest control drone operations, including spray application, fertiliser application, or bait dropping.
Good to know: if you already hold your Part 102 Drone Pilot Certificate and chemical handling qualification, and you're flying under an organisation's UAOC, you may only need the Ag Rating assessment itself. If you're starting from scratch, the full Ag Pilot Pathway builds you up from your first certificate. Expect the full pathway to take 10-12 months to complete, including consolidation training and assessments. If you intend on conducting pest control operations, especially through the use of VTAs, there are additional requirements. Get in touch to learn more about your specific pathway.
Ag Rating Only: $4,000 + GST covers:
- The Ag Rating assessment, for pilots who already hold the qualifications leading up to it
